The network team will be making Core Network routing changes to add a third route to and from the internet, increasing our network route redundancy from N+1 to N+2. This is in direct response to a recent service availability interruption where both incoming internet connections experienced unrelated upstream outages simultaneously. Immediately following the network changes to add the third route, the network team will begin failover testing to validate the increased redundancy. This testing may cause brief service availability interruptions during the maintenance window as routing reconvergence responds to the simulated path failure.
